Dr. Anne Marie Albano

Anne Marie Albano is Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University, Founder of the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders, and Clinical Site Director of New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Youth Anxiety Center. She is also the Executive Director of Modern Minds of Charleston, South Carolina, a new, integrated mental health and wellness center focused on anxiety and depression in adults. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the past president of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Dr. Albano has published more than 200 articles and chapters and is the co-author of several cognitive behavioral treatment manuals and of the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule for Children, all published by Oxford University Press.

Her book with Leslie Pepper, You and Your Anxious Child: Free Your Child from Fears and Worries and Create a Joyful Family Life, received awards from ABCT Self-Help Book Award and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. ABCT offers an award in Dr. Albano’s name, established by a family to encourage the proliferation of evidence-based treatment, the Anne Marie Albano Early Career Award for Excellence in the Integration of Science and Practice. Dr. Albano’s TEDMED talk is focused on parents and anxious children and was released in May 2020.
