Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators (EASE)
Coming to B.C. schools in January 2019!!
EASE is a collection of evidence-informed anxiety prevention and resilience-building resources for use with students in grades K-7. These stand-alone resources align with B.C. curriculum and are designed to benefit all children by fitting into existing classroom routines and practices.
Educator Workshops & Resources
EASE workshops and resources are available for Primary (K-3) and Intermediate (4-7) educators and are provided at no cost to B.C. teachers, school counsellors and other educators who participate in one day of interactive professional development to:
- Find out about anxiety and how it presents at school
- Discover ways to integrate anxiety prevention tools into regular classroom routines
- Get hands-on strategies to help students:
- Recognize helpful and unhelpful thinking
- Take brave steps to face a challenge
- Use relaxation skills to dial down strong emotions and build resilience
EASE’s evidence-informed classroom activities have been selected for their effectiveness as universal anxiety prevention and management techniques. They are designed to be delivered by classroom teachers, but can be adapted for use by school counsellors, administrators and support staff.
How to Register for an EASE Workshop
Review the Workshop Schedule below and email the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) to find out how to register for the workshop of your choice. Workshops will be added as they are confirmed, so keep checking back!
How to Host an EASE Workshop
Workshops will be available beginning in January, 2019.
If you are an EASE Liaison and you would like to host a 1-day EASE workshop in your district or independent school, please email MCFD and an EASE team member will be in touch with you to discuss your request.
EASE District and Independent School Liaisons
Liaisons support EASE by host workshops and serving as the main communication link between staff and educators in participating schools and districts. They are often in close touch with professional development committees, and receive training inquiries from teachers and staff who are interested in EASE. Please contact MCFD to find out the name of your district or independent school Liaison.
