We previously announced that, after more than a decade of providing free anxiety support, we were forced to close the MindShift CBT app due to limited funding; now, we have an important update for our community.

MindShift Will Live On

As many of you know, Anxiety Canada recently announced that we would be closing our doors due to a lack of sustainable funding. Part of that announcement included the closure of our free app, MindShift CBT—an award-winning resource that has helped people manage their anxiety with evidence-based tools.

Today, we’re sharing a silver lining: the MindShift CBT app is not going anywhere.

A New Chapter for MindShift CBT

While Anxiety Canada will no longer operate the app, 247 Labs, the team of developers who have helped us run MindShift CBT for years, have stepped up to take over its ongoing operation. Thanks to 247 Labs, users will still be able to access the app and its features.

Our Thanks to You

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built with MindShift CBT and of the community that has grown around it. Whether you used the app once during a tough moment or made it part of your daily mental health routine, thank you for trusting us.

While Anxiety Canada may be closing, our mission lives on through resources like MindShift CBT and the continued work of our partners.

With gratitude,
-The Anxiety Canada Team

Why does Anxiety Canada no longer run the MindShift CBT app?

Due to a lack of sustainable funding, we are no longer able to maintain and support the MindShift CBT app. 247 Labs, the long-time developers behind MindShift CBT, have purchased the app and will continue to operate it.

Can I still use Anxiety Canada’s mental health resources?

Though the app is closing, you can continue exploring our free online resources at anxietycanada.com until March 2026. This includes our Audio Library with guided meditations and more, as well as the #OurAnxietyStories podcast, featuring stories of lived experience with anxiety and OCD from members of the media, mental health professionals, athletes, and more. Additionally, you can find many of our resources on the HeretoHelp website moving forward: heretohelp.bc.caIf you are in crisis, you can call or text 9-8-8 to reach Canada’s 24/7 Suicide Crisis Helpline for immediate support.

Is MindShift CBT affiliated with/connected to Mind Space?

As Anxiety Canada prepares to close its doors, we’ve become aware of some confusion in the community between the MindShift CBT app and a separate organization called Mind Space Skills for Wellbeing.

To clarify:
MindShift CBT is a mobile app developed by Anxiety Canada and now operated by 247 Labs that helps support individuals with anxiety through self-guided strategies.

Mind Space Skills for Wellbeing is a BC-based non-profit that offers physician-facilitated, evidence-based group medical visits for BC residents experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress. These group programs are covered by MSP and available throughout British Columbia.

While we are not affiliated with Mind Space, we respect their work. If you are seeking continued mental health support, Mind Space may be a helpful resource. Please note that a referral from a BC primary care provider (e.g., family doctor or nurse practitioner) is required to access their programs. Learn more at www.mind-space.ca.

Thank you to our MindShift community for your continued support.
