Dr. Dana Thordarson

Dr. Dana Thordarson is a registered psychologist at the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic in North Vancouver, and at the Stein Medical Clinic in Downtown Vancouver, where she specializes in assessment and therapy for anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress, OCD, and depression in adults.  She also has a Clinical Instructor appointment in the Department of Family Practice at UBC and is an Associate Chair of the UBC Behavioural Research Ethics Board. She collaborates with several UBC faculty conducting research in prenatal and postpartum anxiety. Previously, Dr. Thordarson taught in UBC’s Midwifery Education Program and Psychology department.

Dr. Dana Thordarson received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UBC in 2000, where her thesis research was on the significance of obsessions in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  She has published over 20 scientific articles on anxiety disorders and behavioural genetics, is a reviewer for several journals in her field, and was a contributor to Anxiety Canada’s perinatal anxiety website. Dr. Thordarson joined Anxiety Canada’s Scientific Advisory Committee in November 2017.
